San Bernardino National Forest — Edison Road
Camp Review
We camped at a pullout on Edison Road Section 3. We drove in about a mile and a half onto this road in search of a great pullout, but encountered an off-road section that was not worth getting stuck in. While driving back, we spotted a pretty level pullout and decided to camp.
We were surrounded by bushes with no trees in sight, but the spot felt private enough with dirt berms surrounding us.
We had a direct line of sight to Highway 15 (about half a mile away), which meant highway road noise. At first, we thought this would bother us during the night, but it was far enough away where it served as white noise and not unpleasant.
I had two bars of 5G on Verizon.
What Happened?
After an awesome day in L.A., we needed to find a place to camp for the night and we settled on this forest road inside San Bernardino National Forest.
The road was rougher than usual and I couldn’t get to the camping spot I spotted with a satellite map, but we were happy to have at least found a spot that was private and where noise was low enough for us to sleep (there were other pullouts we saw, but they were directly below electrical lines and I found the noise they made to be unsettling).
We slept well through the night and slept in as much as the warm day would allow. When we got up, we packed up quickly and headed off to ride our bikes!
